Elderberry | 1 | Above Fence | Poor / Struggling |
Cage Notes: Monitored on 9/1/21 by MM & JM. Dogwoods are fruiting. Roses are fruiting, spilling over the fence, and spreading outside the cage. Elderberry is probably too shaded out by the dogwoods. There is a big green ash outside the cage. Multiflora rose is outside the cage and there is a huge one closer to the slough. This should be a priority for removal but Linda saw a swamp sparrow this spring which seemed to be living in the base of a rose in this area. Maybe it will move to the native roses next year.
